Overview

Vecia Gina, nestled on Viale IV Novembre in the heart of Venice, offers a pizza experience that feels both authentic and refreshingly unpretentious. This cozy pizzeria, away from the usual tourist throngs, invites visitors to savor Venice in a quieter, more intimate setting. The space itself is small but warmly welcoming, making it ideal for both locals and travelers seeking a genuine taste of Italian culinary tradition.

The menu balances classic Italian flavors with unique Venetian twists. Signature dishes like the Quattro Stagioni and Pizza Rustica showcase the kitchen’s respect for timeless recipes, while the Polenta with Fresh Mushroom and Codfish speaks to the region’s deep connection to its local ingredients. Beyond pizza, the selection extends to delicate desserts such as Panna Cotta and Tiramisù Cappuccino, perfectly paired with beverages like Aperol Spritz or a crisp Prosecco. The inclusion of specialties like Baccalà Mantecato highlights an appreciation for Venetian heritage, inviting diners to explore beyond typical pizza fare.

Service at Vecia Gina stands out as much as the food. Reviewers consistently note the attentive, polite staff who combine efficiency with genuine warmth. The friendliness and helpful recommendations from servers enhance the overall experience, creating a relaxed atmosphere where one can fully enjoy the meal. Notably, the practice of serving pizza uncut might surprise some but reflects a local custom, encouraging diners to engage more personally with their food.

This is a place for those who appreciate a quiet, authentic dining experience—whether it’s a quick break during a busy day visiting Venice’s Biennale or a peaceful evening meal. Ideal for pizza lovers and enthusiasts of Venetian cuisine alike, Vecia Gina offers fresh, flavorful dishes made with care. Its location in a less touristy area means diners can enjoy their meal without the noise and rush, often followed by a serene stroll through the surrounding streets.

In sum, Vecia Gina presents some of the finest pizza in Venice, complemented by regional specialties and thoughtful service. It’s a hidden gem that satisfies the palate and the soul, promising visitors an authentic slice of Italian life and flavor.

Pizza was delicious!! I was a little confused as to why it came uncut, but I figured it out. Maybe that's how it's done here .

Lovely little pizzeria with excellent pizzas and special polenta, fastest service in Venice, modest prices, polite and helpful staff. It turned to be our favorite place either for a quick pizza-break from the daily Biennale visit or for dinner, since we stayed nearby. We feel lucky having discovered this cozy place in the less tourist area in Venice.

Shhhh its a secret. My wife and I escaped the tourists here. Wonderful little spot with delicious food and great service. Tutul was our server and he was polite, clear and attentive. His service was some of the best we had on our 2 week European trip. The food was fresh and tasty. Pizza back home won't be the same after this experience. Can't wait to go back in the future.

Such a nice place for a quick stop for a coffee! One sits under the trees and enjoys the scenery and the quiet! Hard to believe one is in Venice. And the service here is unbeatable! So quick! Just great!

Fantastic meal at the end of a long day. Recommend making a reservation if you are able to, looks like they can get quite busy. I don't speak Italian but was kindly accommodated in English with no fuss, it was much appreciated! We had polenta with baccala, stuffed olives, pizza and salad. Would recommend all!
